NewSparkElectrical Solutions

AUTHORISED SERVICE PROVIDER - AUP 6580

Level 2 Electrician Newcastle

Not all electrical work is the same - and not all electricians are qualified to do all of it. If your job touches the network, service lines, metering or grid infrastructure, you need a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider. That's exactly what we are, covering both overhead and underground classes.

What is a Level 2 electrician?

A Level 2 Electrician - officially an Authorised Service Provider (ASP) - is a licensed contractor accredited to work on or in connection with the electricity distribution network in NSW. It's a higher classification than a standard electrician, with additional licensing, training and regulatory oversight.

There are two classes: Level 2 ASP (Overhead) for overhead service connections and related infrastructure, and Level 2 ASP (Underground) for underground supply work. NewSpark Electrical Solutions holds full Level 2 ASP accreditation covering both - AUP Number 6580.

Level 2 vs standard electrician

If the issue sits before your switchboard - the service line, point of attachment, meter or consumer mains - it's Level 2 work. Standard electricians handle everything after the meter: powerpoints, lighting, switchboard circuits inside your property. When both sides need work, we do the whole job without subcontracting the hard half.

Common questions

How do I know if my job needs a Level 2 electrician?

If it involves the line into your property, the meter box, or the cables feeding your switchboard, it's Level 2 work. No power while neighbours still have supply, damaged service lines, defect notices and consumer mains upgrades are all Level 2 jobs.
